An acronym that I found fitting for the word hope is How Our Prayers Endure.  It makes sense to me that when we send our prayers up to God, they are usually prayers to help or take care of a loved one.  Prayers for peace.  Prayers for help in time of need or for someone to feel His love.  Our prayers are what we HOPE He can accomplish.  It all stands to reason that if we didn’t hope, we wouldn’t pray.  Thus our prayers continue to endure because of the hope within us.

When I decided to start a new blog, I toyed with many ideas of what to call it.  I had endless words, images and thoughts running through my mind.  Such as Redeemed,  Lighthouse, Author of my Faith.  On and on about the qualities and goodness of the gifts God has given me.  I could easily spend more time on trying to pick a perfect name but I had to get started writing.  So the word Hope is one that I always rely on, one that I live by.  The word that gets me up every morning and helps me to put one foot in front of the other.  The word that spurs me on to pray.  Hope is the reason I don’t give up. The key to survival when I can’t see a light at the end of the tunnel.  It is a word so full and so rich that I know the Lord will give me endless words to share in this blog concerning it.   To give others this gift of hope.  For without it, what is our hope for the future?

A quote that has always stuck with me is in a wonderful  book that I found at a yard sale for a dollar.  It is called, fittingly, The Treasure Chest.  It is filled with quotes from all types of people from presidents to poets to saints.  One of them says this;  “Faith goes up the stairs that love has built and looks out the window that hope has opened.” by Charles Spurgeon.

It always reminds me that every part of life is a journey.  We tarry, we climb, we seek and we know that there is a window that looks out upon the vision of what we long for.  It may not come out to be exactly what we want but rest assured it will be what God deems best.

I am excited to announce that I just published my first book.  It is available for sale on Amazon. In the Hands of God is a devotional filled with stories of heartache and hope. Trials and answers. I pray that all who read it will be blessed abundantly.
